Elm Avenue Project Reveal

We are so excited to reveal our Elm Avenue Project! This project was a year in the making and one we absolutely loved being a part of. The home is located in Manhattan Beach, CA and owned by a family of five. They've owned the house for 9 years and always knew they would one day make it their dream home. It was such an honor to be selected to bring their dream to reality.

This project consisted of completely changing the floor plan of the home, as well as adding on a primary suite. This home went from a 3 bedroom, 3 bath home to a 4 bedroom, 4 bath home. We were hired to design the kitchen, office, living and dining room, as well as all four bedrooms. The family has three young children ages 10 and 8 (twins!). We had a lot of fun designing the kid's bedrooms, as we really wanted to create spaces unique to each child. It was also important to us to create a safe haven in the primary for our clients who needed an oasis of their own.

"Turning a dream into reality."

The kid's bedrooms were particularly fun for us to design! We spent time with each child, learning about their specific needs, personalities, and requests. One loves to fall asleep reading and wanted to be able to turn off the light without getting up. Another collects stuffed animal wiener dogs and needed a good solution for storage. And one needed a solution that would accommodate his specific special needs. We took all of the information we collected and created three unique spaces, fit just to their personalities.

The primary suite was part of the addition, so it was really important to us to create a space that felt like an oasis for our clients. We went with light and bright in this room, using a white upholstered bed, plush bedding, a cream upholstered settee and light gray nightstands. We selected playful bedside lamps and a statement, woven chandelier.

For the home office, we wanted to create a space which felt separate from the look and feel of the rest of the home. Being that we were working with a relatively small space, we decided to add built in shelving along the back wall to frame the window and went bold with a two tone, dark paint paired with plaid roman shades.
