Meet Our Founder

Founder and Principal Designer, Lauren Meichtry is a mother of two who redefined her career in 2019 when she started her handmade pillow business, Elsie Home. She had been a stay at home mother to her two young children for nearly 5 years when she felt the pull to get back to her creative side. With a background in marketing and retail, she launched Elsie Home named after her grandmother, Elsie, who gifted her a vintage sewing machine that she would later use to hand make the first 80 pillows of Elsie Home's collection.

It didn’t take long for pillow styling to turn into full home styling, which later became full-service interior design. Moving homes over 29 times taught Lauren the importance of creating “home” no matter where you are and it’s with that pure love of design and the desire to create “home” for others that Elsie Home operates today.

Lauren, her two children Sierra and Leo, and their floofy doodle, Goldie live and work in Manhattan Beach, CA.
